All scales and tests undergo a rigorous scientific tool development procedure to ensure that the most reliable, valid, and stable tools are used for psychometric assessment. Every psychological variable is construed differently depending on its theory, practice, and existing research literature. You can read more about the procedures on the Scale and Test Construction Methods page.

Some tests/ scales have short and long versions for respondents. As an individual user, you can choose to take either. Short versions are quick to respond but they give only brief feedback. Long versions have more questions and hence, they provide the respondent with detailed feedback. We always recommend taking the long version since it increases the reliability and validity of the test. You can also save your answers and come back at a later time if you are short on time.
